Lars Mytting’s first novel, Horsepower (272 pages) was published by Gyldendal in January 2006, and the first print run sold out in three weeks. During the first two months after publication, the book received more than 25 reviews and great media interest. In addition to its appeal to the general audience as a dramatic novel, it was also soon established as a cult novel for car enthusiasts.

Translation rights for Germany, Sweden, Finland and Denmark are sold, most for publication in spring 2007.

Offering a strong and peculiar Nordic flavour, the novel is ’international’ in its literary use of cars, which makes the story instantly recognizable for readers everywhere.
